With a few old heads and a lot of fresh faces, North Shore re-entered the MWCA competition for the first time in ten seasons.

Off to a strong start with four wins on the trot, the team was on fire. A few missteps during the mid-season saw the boys drop down the table, but a strong finish had them end up in second place going in to the finals.

The semi-final was up against Beacon Hill and saw the lads put in a strong showing with the ball having the opposition all out for 105. Our top order crumbled to be 5/10, before a middle order fightback. Brendan Darke anchored the innings with 53 to see the team get past the Beacon Hill total and win first innings and get through to the last week.

The Grand Final against Peninsula did not start well with North Shore batting first - none of the top five batters got into double figures. Brendan Darke and Abrar Sayeed steadied the ship with 21 a piece, but with only 87 runs on the board it was looking grim. However, the boys showed their fighting spirit, dismissing Peninsula for only 81.

It was a great team effort all season with everyone chipping in at pivotal times. Mat Smith and Neil Gray were solid at the top, with Hasitha Kohona backing them up at number 3. Andrew de Roos, Brendan Darke, Abrar Sayeed and Aaron Lay were strong in the middle order, making valuable runs when necessary.

Mani Kannan, Brendan Darke and Andrew de Roos were lethal with the ball. They were well supported with spin from Abrar Sayeed and Hasitha Kohona, and our medium pacers Shivam Patel, Morgan Davies and Charles Antoniades not only kept things tight but took critical wickets when needed.

In the field, Charles Antoniades showed buckets for hands, and Abrar Sayeed and Brendan Darke showed amazing skills. Behind the stumps, Robert Wong proved himself as not only the best wicketkeeper in the club, but the best in the competition.

Not least of all, the team would not have gotten to and won the premiership without the skipper - Geoff Pritchard. An amazing leader on the field, Geoff persevered though tough situations to get his team home.
